About Youssef
I’m a French native speaker from Casablanca, currently based in Los Angeles. I studied filmmaking in Paris, where I lived and worked for 16 years. I’ve always been passionate about language, not only as a means of communication, but as a living art form that carries culture, emotion, and identity. My experience as a filmmaker and writer has taught me patience, clarity, and a deep attention to expression, qualities I bring to my teaching. I enjoy helping students gain confidence in French, whether they want to master the basics, improve pronunciation, or refine their cultural understanding. I’m an open and encouraging tutor who adapts to each student’s rhythm and interests. My goal is to make learning French engaging, creative, and rewarding for everyone.

My French lessons adapt entirely to the needs and personality of each student. Depending on your goals, our work can range from classic grammar, spelling, and vocabulary lessons, for all levels, to more creative approaches: reading and analyzing French literary works, listening to radio programs on diverse topics such as science, art, history, or politics, and even playing linguistic games that make learning both fun and effective. A typical session begins with a warm-up to activate vocabulary and grammar, followed by an activity adapted to your objectives: written, oral, or cultural. Each lesson ends with personalized feedback and clear progress points. What sets me apart is my background as a filmmaker and screenwriter: I see language as a living tool for expression, culture, and storytelling. My goal is not only to teach you French but to help you feel its rhythm, humor, and emotional depth. Lessons are open to all levels, whether you’re starting from scratch, preparing for an exam, or simply looking to rediscover the pleasure of speaking French.
