About Stanley

I am a Chartered Accountant (Ireland) with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and extensive practical experience in accounting and finance. I have previously lectured accounting and management accounting at tertiary level, served as an Accounting I course leader, and also tutored students while at university.

I enjoy helping students develop a clear understanding of accounting and the confidence to apply that understanding to their own coursework and assessments. My approach is practical, supportive and focused on making the underlying principles easier to understand and apply.

I work comfortably with students at different stages and levels, and I aim to create a relaxed learning environment where the focus is on understanding the subject properly and making steady progress.

About the lesson

I teach accounting in a clear, practical and patient way, starting with what the student already understands and building from there. Although different schools and curricula may use different textbooks, terminology and assessment formats, the underlying accounting principles and logic remain the foundation. My aim is to help students understand that logic rather than simply memorise rules.

I work from the student’s own curriculum, textbook, class notes, exercises and assessment requirements. We can focus on particular problem areas, work through examples step by step, or prepare for tests and exams according to what the student needs.

Online lessons follow the same practical approach and allow us to work directly through the student’s own notes, exercises and course material on screen.

Lessons would normally be around 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted depending on the student.

My teaching experience includes tertiary-level accounting and management accounting lecturing, serving as an Accounting I course leader, and tutoring students while at university.

I work with students studying accounting across different school curricula and all year levels, as well as first-year university accounting.

Details

Face-to-face lessons are available at the student’s home or an agreed public location in Pukekohe and surrounding areas. A $10 travel charge applies. Online lessons are available regardless of location.
