About Suchet
I've studied music from an early age, starting with hindustani classical vocal music, then tabla.
After a number of years studying tabla, I began studying other percussion instruments, notably yidaki (didgeridoo), darbouka, djembe, bongos, cajon and framedrums. These are also the instruments I teach.
In my professional career, I am a multi-percussionist, able to adapt to the requirements of the music. I perform, record and compose.
I began teaching in 2004, and have almost exclusively taught 1-on-1, believing that every student has unique needs and skills.

I work with students 1-on-1 to bring out their best.
I see music as joy, and learning as the journey that gets you there. Classes are relaxed yet focussed, with time for questions. At the end of each class I summarise the learning so you receive a clear overview of what you just studied.
Lessons will typically have warm up and technical exercises, study and analysis of the repertoire of the specific drum that you are learning, exercises for further development, and, when suitable, advanced playing exercises. I also give the theoretical background and knowledge/context of what we are studying, and point you to music and other resources you can additionally dig into.
Whether you play to express yourself, or to develop into a professional, we will work together turn your passion into art.
