About Travis

I am a dedicated flute tutor who enjoys helping students grow musically and creatively. My teaching combines mentorship, accountability, and critical thinking to foster steady progress. I focus on tone, phrasing, rhythm, and breath control while nurturing expressive musicality. I also include music theory, sight-reading, and ear training to strengthen overall musicianship. Creativity is central to my lessons, including improvisation, composition, and musical exploration.

I guide students to set goals, practice consistently, and take ownership of their learning. Mistakes are treated as opportunities for growth and reflection. I adapt lessons to each student’s pace, skill level, and interests. I act as a mentor, providing guidance, motivation, and constructive feedback. My goal is to build confidence, discipline, and curiosity in all students.

I teach flute with a focus on creativity, accountability, and inspiration.

I believe that music is a journey of self-expression and growth. Each lesson encourages students to explore their musical ideas while developing technical skills. I act as a mentor who guides students thoughtfully and patiently. Accountability is central—I help students stay consistent, set goals, and track improvement. Lessons include tone exercises, rhythm practice, breath control, and phrasing. I also include theory, sight-reading, and listening activities to build well-rounded musicianship. Creativity is encouraged through improvisation, musical games, and small compositions. I teach students to think critically about music and reflect on their progress. Mistakes are seen as part of learning, not failure. I adapt my teaching to each student’s pace, age, and interests. I encourage curiosity, questions, and experimentation in every lesson.

I aim to make classes fun, productive, and motivating. I also teach related subjects such as performance preparation and music theory. My goal is to help students become confident, expressive, and lifelong learners of music.
