About Jo
I am an enthusiastic and results-driven Singing tutor with 11 years of professional experience, having trained between 150 and 200 students from beginner to advanced levels.
My teaching philosophy is centred on individualised attention, disciplined practice, and artistic growth.
I believe that strong fundamentals form the foundation of great singing, so my lessons focus on breath control, pitch stability, tone development, articulation, vocal flexibility, and expression.
Each student receives a personalised training plan designed to match their vocal strengths and long-term goals. I carefully monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
In addition to technical training, I help students build stage presence, confidence, and emotional connection with their songs. I also emphasise vocal care and safe singing practices to ensure long-term vocal strength. My aim is to create confident, technically skilled, and expressive singers who enjoy their musical journey.

My approach to teaching Singing is student-centred, supportive, and result-oriented. I first understand the student’s goals, whether they want to sing professionally, academically, or as a hobby.
Based on their goals, I create a customised plan that focuses on their strengths and areas of improvement. I emphasise breathing techniques, pitch stability, tonal richness, and voice control.
I gradually introduce advanced skills like improvisation, expressive phrasing, and dynamic variation. I use real-life performance examples and creative exercises to make lessons engaging and practical.
Each session is organised with clear objectives and time management to track progress effectively. I also motivate students to practise regularly and confidently perform in front of others. Along with Singing, I provide training in basic music theory, ear training, and rhythm accuracy.
