About Cara
My name is Cara, and I am a fluent Irish speaker. I went to an all-Irish primary school and continued my education through Irish, in Coláiste Íosagáin. It is here that my appreciation and love for the language flourished.
I have a great understanding of the language and am suitable to tutor up to a leaving cert standard.

I am looking to give Irish grinds on Zoom weekly or multiple times a week if needed.
Assessment and Personalisation
Depending on the student's level I will be able to assess the standard and create a personalised plan. I will discuss the student's goal with them whether it is an introduction to Irish for primary school, or a particular standard for Junior Cert / Leaving Cert students.
Structured Curriculum
Pronunciation: Focus on the unique sounds of Irish, including the use of the Irish alphabet, with orals in mind if applicable. Creating an ability to naturally weave in Irish 'nathanna' and 'seanfhocal'.
Grammar: Teach past and future tenses, more complex sentence structures, and the use of adjectives and adverbs.
Expanded Vocabulary: Introduce more specific vocabulary related to different topics (e.g., travel, food, hobbies).
Exam Revision
If the tutoring is to be exam focused I will use the feedback from teachers to encourage as much personal development as possible in order to achieve a better result in exams.
