My Methods and Techniques for Teaching English as a Tutor
I emphasize a student-centered approach that accommodates different learning objectives, requirements, and styles. My approach consists of:
1. Interactive Learning: Creating captivating sessions using discussions, real-world examples, and multimedia materials.
2. Task-Based Learning: To strengthen skills, assign real-world assignments such as email writing, presentation, or role-playing dialogues.
3. Scaffolded Support: Dividing difficult subjects into digestible chunks and progressively fostering self-reliance.
4. Constant Feedback: Giving kids helpful, practical criticism to assist them in pinpointing their areas of weakness and boosting their self-esteem.
I adapt my instruction to the student's focus, whether it be academic, professional, or personal English use, and I place an emphasis on a balance of speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities.
A Normal Lesson Plan
1. Warm-Up (5–10 minutes): A brief recap of the prior lesson or a simple exercise to introduce the subject for the day.
2. Content of the Main Lesson (20–30 minutes):
* Instruction in a particular subject or skill (e.g., grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation).
* Practicing in an organized manner through role-playing, talks, or activities.
3. Engaging Exercises (10–15 minutes): centered on using the material covered in class, such as in discussions, creative writing, or comprehension tests.
Feedback and Recap (5–10 minutes): Provide a summary of the session, answer queries, and establish objectives or assignments for the following class.
