About Alex
• Received a Bachelor’s Degree in Trumpet Performance from Miami University.
• Experience in a touring quintet, symphony orchestras, an international chamber orchestra, jazz ensembles, and even a roots reggae band.
• Taught high school and middle school brass players in both classroom settings and private lessons.
• Studied under the trumpets of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and other reputable instructors.
I choose to teach because I enjoy helping my students become better musicians and find their passion.

Welcome to my page!
Before you continue, please note that I primarily teach early-intermediate to more advanced players, as my methods build upon a foundational understanding of the trumpet.
My goal is to help you identify what can be improved in your playing, and give you guidance in how to structure your practice as a result.
What to Expect:
• A relaxed atmosphere—music is art, and the learning process should be fun.
• Unique, creative approaches that you might not have encountered before.
• A strong focus on developing muscle memory around well-executed fundamentals.
• Consistent encouragement, paired with honest and constructive feedback.
• Slight, sometimes dramatic improvement with each lesson.
• Identification and correction of poor habits, replacing them with more beneficial techniques.
• A high standard of excellence, while understanding that mistakes are part of the learning process.
My students consistently win auditions for their desired ensembles and grow rapidly in skill when they practice with intention and consistency.
