About Rebecca

I am a 23 year old First Class MA English-History graduate and MLitt Creative Writing with Distinction graduate.

I do not have exclusive teaching experience (I'm just waiting for that first fabulous student to give me the chance to prove myself!), but I do have lots of experience working with children, and experience in a teaching environment.

In High school, I volunteered as a classroom mentor which involved helping pupils with classroom tasks. I was often paired with struggling students to aid their comprehension and help with their focus in order to build their confidence in their weaker areas.

I also possess work experience from volunteering at my old high school for 3 months in my final year of my undergraduate degree. Here I actively helped the teacher with lesson planning, lesson leading, and marking, as well as answering any questions from the pupils.

As a woman with a master's degree, I have extensive experience in essay writing, structuring, and research and would therefore also be available to tutor university students who require help refining their essay writing skills and techniques.

During the pandemic, I wish to offer my services to anyone who may need it! I look forward to hearing from you :)

About the lesson

I will give lessons to secondary school pupils at examination level up to second year of university.
My focus will be on helping students form coherent essays that meet exam standards, as well as performing in-depth analysis of the chosen texts.
I can also help university level students in essay writing techniques and research methods for contemporary literature and Victorian literature texts.

I aim to make my lessons relaxed and comfortable - learning can only come when my students feel safe and supported in their learning environment! I will tailor my lessons to suit the needs of the individual and their own learning style.
