About Daniel

I spent the last two years as a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Global Priorities Institute at the University of Oxford, where I worked on heterogeneous-agent macroeconomics and the economics of transformative artificial intelligence.

Before that, I received a First in Econometrics & Mathematical Economics from the LSE, achieving high marks in mathematical, statistical, macroeconomic, and industrial organisation modules.

I have previous tutoring and teaching experience, and I’m happy to help with A-Level Economics and Maths, undergraduate economics modules, and anyone with a general interest in economic research.

About the lesson

Structured lessons:
My standard lessons are tailored to each student's goals. A typical session includes clear explanations of key concepts, step-by-step worked examples, and targeted practice questions to build understanding and exam readiness. I also offer focused preparation for A-Level and undergraduate exams, as well as university admissions interviews.

Seminar / discussion style:
For students looking to go beyond the syllabus, I can run more free-flowing, seminar-style sessions, exploring research papers, discussing challenging exam questions, or tackling open puzzles in economics.

Practical tools and problem sets:
I am happy to support students with Python (and related software) for econometrics and data analysis, and can provide readings, problem sets, and exercises between lessons to help consolidate progress.

I used Daniel as a tutor for my GCSE maths exam as I was struggling to make a pass. I can honestly say he was very kind and patient with me, not only was he able to explain the methods of solving the maths problems, but he teaches in such a way the I looked forward to our weekly lessons. He has a clear understanding of maths and I give all the credit to him as I got a grade 5 in my final exam. Would highly recommend!!
