About Lauren
I have taught for nine years in the public and charter school system, working with ages 4 to High School Art One. I come with valuable recommendations from a school counselor/colleague, an IEP/SPED/504-coordinator, and two previous principals. I was a student who the system failed with accommodations and struggled in school but it taught me how to be a quick thinker for modifications for any student needs. I have also coached learn-to-figure-skate courses for beginners and enjoyed coaching adults. I have also enjoyed teaching my identical twin sister how to draw, paint, and crochet.

My lessons teach more than exceptional skills, but a growing knowledge of self. I am well-versed in artists in history who taught us how to speak through art how we feel and function in the world around us. Not art therapy but art is inherently therapeutic. I like to teach students how to use art as a form of literacy.
