About Elsie

Hi, I'm a 21 year old student in my final year of a BA (Hons) degree in Media. I achieved an A* in Media Studies at A level and my degree has equipped me with even more subject knowledge, so you can trust that any level of learner will be in safe hands. I really love Media Studies and I think it's such an underrated subject. A lot of the concepts you learn apply to everyday life and it can take you in such exciting career directions. I'm always happy to learn new things in the field of media, so if you ask me about a topic I don't know I'll enjoy researching it and we can learn together. Through my degree, I've furthered my knowledge by writing in-depth about film, social issues, and advert campaigns - and I have experience working on film sets. I'd love to share any industry knowledge I have and can advise in areas such as graphic design and content creation also.

About the lesson

I'd be happy to teach GCSE or A Level Media Studies students. Whether you need help with theory, close study products, or exam-style questions - I've got you covered! I'm a calm and patient person who has worked with and organised events for children and young people in the past. I have experience tutoring English Literature and Language GCSE on other tutoring platforms, but Media is where my passion lies. I like to tutor by working through topics together and discussing them. Media encourages you to use your own ideas and cultural knowledge - so our sessions will involve you talking just as much as me! I might set you some wider reading to complete from time to time, but I'll take into account your schedule and other commitments. I'm extremely conscientious and want you to do well so I'll plan my lessons specifically to your needs. Everyone learns at a different pace and has their own style of working and I understand this. We can work together to build your knowledge and get you the grades you deserve.
