About Joy
Hi! My name is Joy and I’m a Film Student based in Northern Ireland, and I tutor GCSE Moving Image Arts! I have such a huge passion for Film and Media and I have lots of experience in this field.
I have completed the ScreenWorks ‘Grip Department’ with Donovan Gallagher where I was a trainee (May 2025)
ScreenWorks ‘Virtual Production’ with Ulster University where I was a trainee learning to use Blender and Nuke (June 2025).
As well as this I completed the ‘Film and Animation Week’ with the Nerve Centre where I worked as a music/sound engineer making music for the short (July 2025)
I completed the ‘VFX Intro course’ with the Nerve Centre where I learnt the basics of Adobe After Effects and using a green screen editing (August 2025)
I completed the ‘Cross-Border Film Academy’ with Cinemagic where we created a short film under the guidance of director Maire Campbell and had Zoom master classes with directors and producers to help us prepare for the shoot. I worked as a supporting actor and in sound. (June 2025-August 2025)
I’m completed in the ‘BFI Film Academy’ with the AmmA Centre where we’ve just wrapped up the course. I worked in the sound and music side of things and created a score for the movie. (September 2025 - December 2025)
I am now currently enrolled in ‘Film Futures’ with Cinemagic in which I am getting industry master classes and working again in music and sound.
As well as this I am enrolled in ‘Fresh Films Weekly Filmmaking Program’ which is run through the US where we have projects we compete over the year for college credits.
I have also been accepted on the NFTS (National Film and Television) Residential course run through Disney in which I will be working as a sound engineer.
As well as this I have been accepted onto the BFI x LSA Hair, Makeup, Wigs and Prosthetics course in London.
