About Yavuz Selim

Hi! My name is Yavuz Selim Yorulmaz, and I am a Film & Media Composer from Turkey, with over 9 years of composing experience.

My work has been featured on EpicMusicWorld, Astronic Media, several music libraries, game jams, and many more, garnering over 3 million streams across multiple platforms.

I have also studied Composing for Visual Media at the college level, completing many scoring projects as part of my coursework. My main instrument is piano.

About the lesson

- Here is what to expect -

1. Complete Beginner
• Learn and get comfortable with the essentials of your DAW (I mainly use FL Studio, but have some experience with Cubase, Ableton, Logic Pro X, and Pro Tools as well), such as navigation, setting up, notation, recording, mixing, and mastering.
• Create your first piece together—whether it’s 30 seconds or longer—and improve on that.
• Learn how to make your music sound polished and enjoyable for listeners, meeting today’s standards in quality, composition, and streaming platforms.
• Find the most budget-friendly libraries, VSTs, effects, and workflows for your needs. (I personally create about 90% of my music using completely free libraries, instruments, and effects.)

2. FL Studio Patcher
• Learn how to use FL Studio’s powerful Patcher tool. You will be able to create your own instruments, achieve complex mixes with ease, build custom Patcher templates that speed up your workflow, avoid clutter in bus routing, manage routing from Patcher to other mixer tracks, and more. We will go over some practical use cases as well.

3. Pinpoint Feedback & Guidance
• Review your music together and identify areas for improvement—whether in composition, mixing, mastering, project optimization, organizing, or more. From there, we’ll go step by step on how to achieve those improvements.
• Optimize your PC and DAW settings to boost software performance, improve render quality, and fine-tune the workflow adjustments that best suit your needs. Along the way, we’ll address any other musical or technical challenges you may be facing.

4. Artist Presence
• Build your artist presence: setting up social media, music distribution, and music management, so you can share your work and grow. Explore distributor options, YouTube Content ID, PROs (Performance Rights Organizations), artist page verification, Spotify pitching, playlist submissions, library music catalogs and more.
