About Scarlett
Developing LEFT HAND AGILITY while maintaining pitch accuracy requires a connection between the mind and the instrument that starts before the page. I hear the resonance of a wooden fiddle in a quiet room when I think of my early days in the American South.
My training at Belmont University gave me the BM Music Performance degree that anchors my classical repertoire knowledge. I have spent 13 years refining how to bridge the gap between folk intuition and the rigor of ABRSM or Trinity grade exam prep. Tuning by ear is the foundation for everything I teach to adults and working professionals.
Understanding music theory becomes much simpler once your fingers already know the shape of the melody. Double stops often feel impossible until you find the proper balance, which I help you locate through careful listening. I also provide custom scale and etude sheets for each student to keep your practice focused.
You will find that internalizing the sound makes reading notation feel like a natural extension of your playing. It is quite rewarding to help self-taught players gain the structure they crave without losing their unique musical voice.

Classical requirements are integrated through this ear-first approach so you can ace your exams with total confidence.
