About Gengenius
Hello, I'm Patrick. I've always been a natural at sharing what I know with others. Family and friends always say, "you should've been a teacher". So, here I am.
I studied Fashion Design at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. However, I started sewing at age twelve, self-taught, and so I over 40 years of experience in sewing, manufacturing, pattern making, product development, and design.
My favorite designers/houses are Coco, Halston, Valentino, Gucci, Versace, Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy, Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Roberto Cavalli.
I was born in the 1960's and became a teenager during the 70's, so I love all things disco, Studio 54, WoodStock and bellbottoms.
Over my 40 year career, I've developed a few collections of my own. My very first job was "sewing machine" operator for a manufacturer where I learned to make blue jeans. So somewhere out there in the world are vintage Lees, Wranglers and Levi blue jeans that I made. You might even own a pair!

I specialize in sewing techniques, draping, pattern making, and design.
I'm the perfect instructor for beginners, intermediate, fashion students and individuals who want to learn to make their own clothes or start their own clothing lines.
I believe the "following along" method works best for creative minds. This method helps with memory and improves motor skills which are very important in sewing, draping and pattern making.
The "follow along method" also makes the lesson plans simple.
A list of things needed for the lesson will be posted. Then you join the live link and follow along as I demonstrate. That simple!
A typical sewing lesson plan example: intermediate level "seams", sewing two 12x12 inch pieces of muslin fabric together to make flat felled, French, bound, and welt seams.
I'm a serious instructor, but I'm witty, and known to make people laugh. I do enjoy lighthearted interactions with my students. Now, let's get to work!
Feel free to contact me for answers to your questions, and if would like to get started, then please sign up now!
