About Lily
I am an enthusiastic flute tutor with 7 years of professional teaching experience and approximately 150 students guided successfully. I teach all levels and focus on steady, measurable progress.
My lessons begin with strengthening breath support, posture, and tone production before moving into articulation techniques, scale practice, and advanced repertoire. I believe in step-by-step learning that allows students to build confidence gradually. I also integrate rhythm exercises and basic music theory to ensure complete musical understanding.
My unique ability is identifying areas for improvement quickly and designing targeted exercises that produce visible results. I maintain patience and provide consistent encouragement, helping students overcome technical challenges with confidence. Teaching flute is not only about mastering the instrument but also about developing discipline, focus, and self-expression. I aim to guide each student towards becoming a confident and expressive musician.

My teaching methodology for flute emphasises technique, expression, and musical understanding. I adapt lessons to the student’s learning style, ensuring that concepts are understood and applied effectively.
Lessons focus on breath control, embouchure stability, tone quality, finger dexterity, and rhythm accuracy. I provide structured exercises to build technical precision, while also encouraging expressive phrasing and dynamic control. Advanced students work on articulation, ornamentation, and interpretative skills.
Alongside performance, I teach music theory, scales, sight-reading, ear training, and rhythm comprehension. This ensures that students develop holistic musical knowledge rather than just mechanical skill.
Flexibility allows me to adjust lesson plans according to student goals, progress, and interests. Collaboration is encouraged through discussions about repertoire, practice strategies, and performance readiness. I maintain a positive, motivating environment to nurture confidence, discipline, and a genuine passion for music.
