About Sharka
I am a Czech-Australian artist working across theatre design, wearable art, and community engagement. My teaching practice is informed by my work with diverse populations—from early childhood to older adults, special needs communities to incarcerated individuals—through diplomas in Early Childhood Education, Special Education and Art Therapy.
I incorporate Tai Chi/Qi Gong into creative sessions as I believe embodied practice unlocks different ways of thinking and making. Movement quiets the critical mind and allows intuitive creative responses to emerge.
What drives my teaching is witnessing transformation—not just in technical skill, but in how people relate to their own creative capacity. I create environments where experimentation is valued over perfection and where each person's unique perspective is the starting point, not an obstacle to overcome.
Currently pursuing a PhD researching participatory art as transformative experience, my teaching philosophy is grounded in lived practice across two decades of professional creative work.

I believe learning happens best through hands-on experimentation and responsive dialogue. Whether working one-on-one or with groups, I adapt each session to your creative goals—exploring materials, solving technical challenges, or developing conceptual thinking.
Sessions range from one to four hours depending on the depth of exploration. My approach draws from over twenty years working across theatre, visual arts, and wearable design, bringing real-world creative practice into the learning space. I encourage risk-taking, material play, and discovering your own artistic voice rather than replicating techniques.
Drawing on my background in Early Education and two Master's degrees in Arts, I create structured yet flexible learning experiences where you're actively making, not just watching demonstrations. Suitable for all ages and skill levels—from curious beginners to established practitioners wanting fresh perspectives.
