About Ben
My name is Ben, and I’m an open-format DJ based in Cheshire with over 20+ years of experience performing across clubs, bars, festivals, weddings, birthdays, private parties, and corporate events.
Over the years I’ve played a wide range of venues and event types, from club nights and bar residencies to mobile DJ work at large-scale weddings and private functions. This has given me extensive experience adapting to different crowds, environments, and music styles, working across everything from high-energy peak-time sets to more structured event-driven performances.
Alongside my DJ career, I previously worked in a DJ store, developing strong technical knowledge of equipment, setups, and systems across both beginner and professional-level gear.
I also spent 9 years working behind the scenes, producing online DJ courses for a global DJ school, contributing to structured learning content that supports students, and helping create courses for DJs such as DJ Jazzy Jeff, James Hype, Ferry Corsten, Laidback Luke, and DJ Angelo.

My DJ lessons are tailored around your experience level, musical interests, and personal goals. Whether you want to learn the basics of mixing, prepare for your first party, improve your transitions, understand your DJ software, or build confidence behind the decks, I’ll create lessons that suit your pace and style.
Lessons can be delivered face-to-face in my home studio in Macclesfield, Cheshire, or online, depending on what works best for you. In-person sessions take place in a relaxed, beginner-friendly environment with plenty of hands-on practice using professional DJ equipment.
Beginner lessons are taught using a Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4 controller and Rekordbox software, which I highly recommend as the ideal starting point for learning modern DJ fundamentals and preparing for club-standard setups.
You’re also welcome to bring your own portable controller and laptop if you’d prefer to learn on your own equipment, provided it is practical to set up in the studio space. Please let me know in advance so I can confirm compatibility and ensure I can accommodate your setup.
For more advanced students or those wanting experience with different systems, I can also offer lessons on professional club-standard gear and teach across multiple DJ platforms including Serato DJ, VirtualDJ, Traktor, and djay Pro. DVS setups are available for digital vinyl mixing, and vinyl-only lessons can also be arranged for anyone wanting to learn traditional turntable techniques.

With over 20 years of experience DJing in bars, clubs, festivals, parties, mobile events, and live streaming, I teach practical, real-world skills that are actually used during live performances — not just theory. My goal is to help you become comfortable, creative, and confident behind the decks while enjoying the learning process.
Lessons are suitable for complete beginners, hobby DJs, teenagers, and adults looking to get into DJing for fun, private events, livestreaming, or future gigs.
