About Laurel
I am a patient and motivated Piano tutor with 13 years of experience teaching students at all skill levels. Over the years, I have successfully trained around 150 students, helping them improve technique, rhythm, and musical awareness. My teaching philosophy focuses on clarity and consistency. Lessons are tailored to each student’s learning pace and goals. Beginners focus on basic piano techniques and note reading.
Intermediate and advanced students develop coordination, accuracy, expression, and performance skills. I include music theory, ear training, and sight-reading to strengthen overall musicianship. I also guide students on how to practice effectively and track progress. My unique ability is creating a calm and positive learning environment. I provide clear feedback and encouragement. My aim is to help students become confident pianists with a lifelong interest in music.

My approach to teaching Piano focuses on Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity. I aim to make piano lessons clear, engaging, and enjoyable for students of all levels.
I start with essential piano skills such as correct posture, finger placement, rhythm accuracy, and note reading. These fundamentals are practiced using structured exercises and level-based songs. As students improve, I introduce scales, chords, and expressive techniques. Flexibility allows me to adjust lessons to suit each student’s learning speed.
Collaboration helps students feel involved in their learning journey. I encourage questions, discussions, and active participation during lessons. Students also help choose learning material, which keeps them motivated. Practice routines are explained in simple steps.
Positivity shapes my teaching environment. I motivate students through encouragement and patient guidance. Mistakes are handled calmly and used as learning moments. In addition to piano lessons, I teach music theory basics, rhythm skills, ear training, and performance preparation. My goal is to help students enjoy piano and grow confidently.
