About Katie
Hello! I'm Katie, an experienced educator residing in the beautiful Lake District. With a background in IB Visual Arts, A-Level, and GCSE Art & Design, I bring a holistic approach to teaching, enriched by my personal journey through the IB programme. My Background: - Educational Expertise: I hold a BA in Childhood Psychology and a PGCE in Secondary Art & Design with QTS, equipping me with a deep understanding of both artistic disciplines and student development. - Diverse Experience: My career spans various educational settings, focusing on mental health, pastoral care, and art and design, reflecting my commitment to nurturing the whole student. Special Interests: - IB Curriculum Advocate: As an IB alumna, I passionately support the IB education system, integrating its principles to foster critical thinking and creativity in my students. - Textiles and Knitting Specialist: I have a particular passion for textiles, especially knitting, and offer specialised instruction in this area to inspire students to explore and excel in textile arts. - Entrepreneurial Endeavours: Beyond teaching, I manage a small business where I create and sell commissioned textile pieces.
