About Debbie

Debbie Irwin is a NYC-based award-winning voiceover talent who has been the voice of The Statue of Liberty on the landmark’s audio tour, major international museum audio tours, the voice of Big Pharma, documentaries, commercials, corporate narrations and the Voice of God for live awards shows. Her expertise is medical narration.

Her global client list includes: Astra Zeneca, Barclays, Baxter, The NY Botanical Garden, eBay, CarFax, Einstein Healthcare Network, Jennifer Furniture (formerly Jennifer Convertibles), GE, HSBC, Humana, International Fragrance Awards Show at Alice Tully Hall, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Guggenheim Museum, Northwell Health, Novartis, Oracle, Pandora, PBS Treasures of NY documentaries, Sephora, Shoprite, The Smithsonian, SPDR Financial, Revlon, UConn Health Center, The Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, and more.

Debbie is known for being fun to work with, supremely professional and uber easy to direct. Focusing on her clients’ needs she has expanded her services to include audio production, casting other talent and hiring composers to create original scores for their projects.

With 15 years in the business, and having lived in Italy as a child, Mexico for many summers, having had a long career as a stage actress, working in PR at The Guggenheim, then many years as a stockbroker on Wall Street, and raising 3 kids in Manhattan, Debbie brings a multi-cultural and multi-discipline background to her work. She’s found the realization of her dreams in her successful career as a voice-over actor.

I love helping people! Whether I'm voice acting, teaching, learning, guiding, helping, or just collaborating with other creatives, it all gives me pleasure. Love what you do and you'll never work a day in your life!

Credentials-

I have been a successful fulltime voiceover actor for nearly 20 years and have over 40 years of experience as an actress.

I have been training with voiceover industry leaders such as Mary Lynn Wissner, Joan Baker, Marice Tobias, David Goldberg, Doriane Elliott, Pat Fraley, Andy Roth, Brad Calcaterra, Ed Lewis, Roger Becker, David Lyerly, Dave Walsh and more.

I love the challenge of the tongue-twisting terminology you find in medical narration, I'm often hired to voice haughty British Queens (ala Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones). Documentaries and museum audio tours are other huge favorites of mine, and the occasional video game trailer or character is always a blast!

About the lesson

I like to get to know a student and learn what it is that they want to learn. A motivated student is always the best. I may refer people to other experts depending on their needs. I also have lots of information and resources to share.

Professionals in other areas who have been interested to explore if they want to include the world of voiceovers into their mix. Voiceover actors at all levels of experience.

Know what it is you want to learn. Interview a few people to see where the chemistry is right. Find someone who is positive and willing to be a champion for you!

Being in Iceland was one of the most amazing trips I've taken, and I love to travel! Ask to see my photos, I'm happy to share them. :-)
