About Chelsie

I am 31 old and started playing the violin at 3 years old. Throughout my life, I have been trained classically in school and attended college on a music scholarship. However, my methods of teaching violin come from the Suzuki method as well as the methods taught throughout the school districts. This training has led my music career to expand from classical performance to a mindset of improv. I have had students of all ages (age 3-16), play at various churches, have jam sessions with small groups or bands, as well as perform at special events.

I enjoy the fact that learning the violin and feeling the emotional connection to music can be experienced at the same time! Once the basics of playing the violin are learned, an individual does not need to be classically trained or need to be good at reading music to enjoy the gift of music through a violin.

About the lesson

I will begin by meeting the student along with their parents at a public place for a 30-minute consult. This in-person consult will be the chance to meet the student and parents and provides the opportunity to discuss if the student would prefer a 30-minute lesson or an hour lesson per week. At this consult, there is no need for the student to bring a violin, as the 1st lesson is built to observe the student's skill set.
