About Elizabeth

A certified Suzuki violin and viola Instructor with a BM and MM in viola performance, I offer private lessons in the Portland, ME area. Experienced in teaching both beginners and those with experience, I am happy to teach students of all ages and levels. I currently have openings in my studio, and would love to hear from you! It is my belief that music should be available to those of all backgrounds, and I aim to reach a wide range of individuals through both my teaching and performing. Learning an instrument can shape who you are, developing work ethic, confidence, and ownership. Through the study of music, there are countless life skills that can be learned; creativity, listening, communication, compassion, empathy - just to name a few. These skills developed through learning a musical instrument benefit each individual as a whole, and can be applied in every other aspect of life and learning. I love working with those of all ages and levels - If the student is ready to learn, motivated, and loves music, I am excited to teach them.

I have two degrees in viola performance, and certification in the Suzuki Method from the Hartt Institute. In addition to my studies, I completed a fellowship at Lincoln Center Education in NYC where I worked alongside Teachign Artists bringing music education into New York public schools.

Violin lessons offered by Elizabeth are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in Portland. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
