About Katy

I’m Katy ... aka Suite Talk! I'm a classically trained Violist, DJ, and certified music nut offering Viola & Violin lessons, theory, composition (including electronic production), song writing, and arranging via the magic of the interwebs😁🎻🎼.

I’ve been playing professionally for 18 years, have taught all ages over the last 14 years, and have two music books published with Hal Leonard.

Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music - Viola Performance and music history with a focus in composition

Owner/Operator - Suite Talk and Happy Couple Duo - Event Based Professional Music Performace and Orchestration - 2010-present

Session Violist - various indie bands including 'Eric from Philly' ' The Indras' and 'Heavy Hinges' to make a few - 2009-present

About the lesson

The first steps include assessing level of desired training (goals for lessons) followed by an evaluation of the level the student should begin. I then plan a syllabus for one month at a time specifically created aid the student in achieving their goals. I always reasses after the first month to tailor the next month based upon time, abilities, and dedication of the student.

All types large and small!!

Think about what you want to achieve. Set short term and long term goals and think about whether what the teacher is offering will add or subtract from your desired experience. Choose the one that ADDS!
