About Julia

Hello! I am a classical violinist and violin teacher who has 16 years experience. I teach students of all ages and levels.

As a performer, I've played in several orchestras in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and the forum in Harrisburg, PA.

I love the happy and proud look of my students when they perfectly play their song they just learned. I really like when my students are eager to learn a new piece of music.

I actually started teaching during my first year of graduate school. I subbed at Manhattan School of Music once in a while and I had a group of students on Long Island, NY. By my second year, I was teaching in 3 different programs as well as going to school. I have been teaching ever since.

I have both my Bachelo's degree and Master's degree in violin performance. I am Suzuki certifified through book 8.

About the lesson

If a student has played violin before, I listen to the last song or piece of music he or she has played to detern=mine the level and what to work on. I then let the new student choose a song of interested which is at the student's level or slightly higher.

If the student has never played before, I introduce the violin. This means I show all the parts and expalin how they work. I also play a song to get the student excited about playing.

I have worked with students of all ages, levels and social economic backgrounds.

Make sure you are dedicated to learning the instrument. Find a teacher who is close to you and has a lot of experience and passion for the violin. Also make sure the fee is right for you.
