About Sarah

Hi! My name is Sarah Greene and I am an award winning professional violinist and violist. I did my training at the Eastman School of Music and University of Southern California Thornton School of Music and have been teaching private lessons since I was in high school. I am so passionate about spreading the knowledge of music to anyone with the desire to learn! I accept students starting at age 6 and up to any age regardless of your starting level.

My teaching philosophy is to develop a solid technical foundation, always emphasizing musicianship and music theory skills. I tailor each lesson to the individual student so be prepared for new challenges!

I teach out of my home but can also travel a limited distance to your home for an additional fee.

I love seeing the joy on students faces when they finally master something they had been struggling with! However, I also love working with students through their struggle. Playing an instrument is not easy and everyone goes through struggles no matter how experienced you are, it's all about finding what way works best for you to help you conquer the goals we set!

When I was in high school, I performed as a violinist, pianist, and singer and started teaching piano and voice lessons! Once I began college, I took pedagogy courses and learned how to teach viola and violin on a University level.

Bachelors Degree in Viola Performance from the Eastman School of Music

Graduate Certificate in Viola Performance from the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music

About the lesson

Our very first lesson together will give me the groundwork to build a lesson plan and both short term and long term goals for you. Each student is so different and I specialize in understanding how to accommodate different levels of ability and preferred learning styles.

I work with students age 6 and up! Any level and knowledge of music is welcome, including complete beginners!

Single Lessons- $90 per hour

Package of 4 Lessons- $320 ($80 per hour)

Package of 10 Lessons- $750 ($75 per hour)

If I am traveling to you, there will be an additional fee TBD.
