I am a warm and welcoming teacher. One of my goals as a teacher is to instill a curiosity for learning and love for the violin--I equip my students (ages 5 through 95) with proper technique and teach all of my students how to read music fluently on their own. For my youngest students, I incorporate fun games and singing to introduce new musical concepts. It's important to me that my students look forward to their lessons each week and are excited about the next thing they'll learn in violin lessons.

I love seeing the joy that music can bring to my students of all ages. For my youngest students, their excitement when learning a new note or the pride they feel when completing their first song. For my older students, they often express the solace or de-stressing they feel when playing at home after a tiring day. Music means something different to everyone, and as I teacher I enjoy helping my students find what it means to them.

As a teacher, I am committed to empowering and assisting my students to develop their communication skills and confidence while fostering a lasting curiosity for learning and a genuine love for the imaginative and expressive capabilities of music.

I received my BM and MM in Violin Performance from the Eastman School of Music, where I served as Teaching Assistant to Charles Castleman. In addition to over a decade of private teaching, I am faculty at The Chamber Music Center of New York.

As a guest artist and educator, I'v given performances and worked with students at universities around the world, including Bard College; Berklee College of Music; Chinese University of Hong Kong; Cornell University; Dartmouth College; Eastman School of Music; Harvard University; Shanghai Conservatory; Universidade Federal do Paraná; University of Alaska, Anchorage; University of California, Berkeley; University of California, San Diego; and Wesleyan University.

Violin lessons offered by Lauren are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons can also be held online. Lessons are also available in New York. The first lesson is free to define learning goals and methodology.
