About Jennifer
My teaching philosophy is based on the fact that every student is unique and individual. Everyone's needs, learning styles, and goals are different, so I believe that my job is to create lesson plans that are catered to the individual.
I also strongly believe that my job as a teacher is for my students to learn how to become their own teachers. As a result, I challenge critical thinking, analysis, and listening skills to teach my students how to teach. Violin lessons aren't just about learning how to play the instrument; it's about creating and developing skills that can carry a student further in life.
I've been playing the violin for 17+ years and have been teaching for 10+ years. I received my Bachelor's in Violin Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, studying with Pinchas Zukerman. I am also planning to graduate in the spring with my Master's from MSM.
During my time at MSM, I've served as concertmaster for various orchestras and have been the Teaching Assistant to Patinka Kopec for the past several years. In those years, I've helped prospective students get accepted into MSM and the Kopec studio, both in the pre-college and the college divisions.
