About Tania

I am a professional violinist and I love teaching students of all ages. I have been teaching violin for over 13 years and have been loving it so much! My philosophy is that we are all unique and require different things. During lessons I focus on helping the student learn how to practice effectively, technique related issues, musicality, and many more important aspects of playing the violin.

One of the things I enjoy about teaching is the connection with students. I like to get to know them, listen to their needs and help in any way possible. Music is fun and it makes our lives so much better and I want my students to learn that!

I also enjoy seing the progress students make over time. It is amazing what we can accomplish with desire, love and hard work!

I started teaching during my Undergraduate years and I ewas fortunate to work with amazing and pasionate students. I have learned so much from them and I have developed many strategies to help them in the process.

About the lesson

When meeting a new student, I like to get to know a little about them. Why do they want to play the violin and what are they looking to accomplish in lessons are my first questions. That gives me an idea of where we need to start and what to focus on.

I have worked with students of all ages and levels, from 4 year olds to adults. Some of my students made it in their regional orchestras, some went on to college to major in violin, and some are very passionate and have busy lives so they play for fun!

I would advise students to follow their passion no matter of who they study with. But always find a teacher you can connect with and be open about their needs. The intimate setting of private lessons is special, and I believe that having a reliable and understanding teacher will help the student flourish as a musician much faster.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I believe students should think about why do they want to learn the violin and what are they looking forward to accomplish. That will give them a goal and will also help the teacher understand and help them in their musical journey.

Not only does she teach with a lot of patience, but she helps my daughter to understand what she is doing and strives to improve on those skills. I also thought teaching on Zoom and not in person would be a hindrance, but Tania does it in such a way that it feels like she present in the room.
