About Nicholas

If you want your children to uncover their full potential and take ownership of their life, taking violin/viola lessons with me would be an excellent tool to do just that. In weekly private violin/viola lessons, I focus on establishing uncommonly flawless technique so the student can experience the fulfillment of mastering a skill while simultaneously acquiring the necessary skills to be future leaders in society. I have uncommonly high expectations for my students which require a high level of commitment. With such high expectations, I understand that I must exhibit a level of excellence, not only confined to musicianship, but as a way of life to inspire my students to do their best.

I have a Master's degree in Viola Performance from Michigan State University. I also have two Bachelor's in Music Performance and Music Composition. I have been teaching private viola/violin for a total of 6 years. I currently perform with many orchestras between Chicago, IL and Waukesha, WI. I currently serve as the Principal Violist of the Racine Symphony Orchestra and Assistant Principal Violist of the Lake Forest Symphony.

About the lesson

The student's parent(s) can e-mail me, and I will send back a general information sheet that I give to each prospective student. This includes price, and general policies

The first lesson is always offered free of charge so the student's family can determine if taking lessons with me are a good fit.

I have taught ages 6-64. I currently have a number of students from 3rd grade- high school.

Keep in mind that not all teachers teach proper technique, and in turn do a disservice to the student. Sometimes beginning string teachers are not actually string players. So be careful to get a teacher that understands how important it is to properly teach technique. Teachers should also be teaching how to practice. This is a critical skill that can apply to many other areas outside of music. Lessons are useless without the student practicing at home.

The first lesson is always offered free of charge so the student's family can determine if taking lessons with me are a good fit. After this, the regular rates apply: $23- 30 minutes $29- 45 minutes $35- 60 minutes
