About Dan
Dan DiMarino has been studying and performing music all over northeast Ohio for the past decade. He is currently pursuing a degree in trombone performance at Cleveland State University. While at CSU, he has studied with Shachar Israel (Assistant Principal trombone in the Cleveland Orchestra) and Jason Smith (Playhouse Square/City Music Cleveland). He has performed as a soloist with the Cleveland State University Orchestra. Dan was the second place scholarship winner in the 2017 Tuesday Musical solo competition. Dan was a participating member of the Cleveland trombone seminar in 2013 and in 2014 where he was performed as a soloist. He also has participated in the Summer Trombone Workshop at Temple University. He has performed in masterclasses with such trombonists as Toby Oft (Principal trombone, Boston Symphony Orchestra) and Matt Vaughn (Philadelphia Orchestra).
Dan is currently the Principal trombonist with the Cleveland Winds, which was winner of the 2016 American prize for wind band performance, and has done recordings with world class euphonium soloist David Childs. Dan is a multifaceted musician, with experience in jazz and Latin music. He has performed at Tri-C Jazzfest 2016 and 2017, as well as with big bands such as the Ernie Krivda big band, the Skatch Anderson Orchestra, and others.
