About Isaiah
Isaiah Figueroa is a Euphoniumist from Brooklyn, NY attending the Purchase College-Conservatory of Music. He is currently studying with Professor Jack Schatz and has been under the instruction of other renowned artists of the brass world such as Steven Mead, David Childs, Joseph Alessi, Dr. Brian Bowman, and Demondrae Thurman.
Figueroa attended the Boston University Tanglewood Institute in the summers of 2016-17 where he studied with Mike Roylance, Principal Tubist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He was a semi-finalist in the Leonard Falcone International Tuba and Euphonium competition in 2017, a medalist the year after and was a finalist in the 2019 Chappaqua Orchestra's International concerto competition. He has had the opportunity of performing in many concert halls such as Lincoln Center, Seiji Ozawa Hall, Carnegie Music Hall in Pittsburgh, Koussevitzky Music Shed and Carnegie Hall where he made his solo debut.
Figueroa's goal is to be a soloist and educator of the instrument, as he follows those who lead the way for Euphonium players worldwide, through his own performances he continues to showcase the Euphonium as a pressing solo vehicle in the world of classical music.
