About Olivia

Hello! My name is Olivia Battye! I am origianlly from Liverpool, England but I came over to the States on a Division 1 Tennis scholarship to play at Sam Houston State. I began playing tennis aged 4, and my passion and drive for the sport led to me representing Great Britian on the junior circuit, enabling me to travel around Europe! I coached for three summers at a Tennis Academy in Philadelphia whilst I was completing my Undergraduate Degree. I played at the top of the line up in College and I was hired to be the Assistant Coach whilst I completed my Master's Degree. I am extremely passionate about the sport and my hope is that I can instill my passion onto those who I coach. I work with all levels and ages, and each lesson is adapted to meet the needs of the individual. I use different methods of instruction such as hands on teaching as well as visual. I bring positivity, enthusiasm and fun to each lesson!

I love working with people! I love watching them grow and gain confidence. It is very humbling and rewarding watching someone use the information you have given them to improve their game.

It was a natural progression. I knew I wasnt going to play forever, so coaching is a way for me to stay involved in the sport.

I have grown up playing tennis since I was 4 years old. I have had many different coaches which have taught me many different things. Playing collegiate tennis taught me more of the mental aspect of the game, while the summers I spent coaching the camps enabled me to learn how to coach people of all ages.

About the lesson

Getting to know the student first of all. Find out their interests so we make a connection. Take a look at all of their strokes first, to see what the skill level is. Assess where they can imporve and tailor the lessons around that

Young kids aged 5 all the way up to adults in their 60s.

Don't just hire someone based off their resume. You want to know the person and see how they are in real life, more than what they look like on paper.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They need to think about what their goals are and what they feel they would like to improve.
