About George

53 years of experience, seriously. I am still playing competitive and teaching part-time. I have been playing since I was 5 years old. I played for the Venezuelan National team from age 17-18. I also played internationally as a junior representing the Venezuelan Junior National Team from age 14 to 18. I came to the United States in 1985 on a tennis scholarship. I played for Wharton County Junior college from 1985 to 1988, becoming their First "All American" by reaching the semi-finals at the Junior college National Championship. After that, I played for the University of Texas at Tyler on a tennis and academic scholarship. I have been teaching part-time for over 20 years. I focus on teaching kids. I have lots of experience developing skills and dealing with different personalities. I believe that teaching a lesson is more than just learning how to play, there is also the psychological aspect of the game. I believe that the lessons should prepare the kids to learn how to play, but also to learn how to face obstacles in life.

I enjoy watching my students grow, especially the young ones. I watch their self esteem grow as their game improves.

Through tournaments, people asked me if I would teach their kids.

I was part of the Venezuelan Junior National team. I had a tennis scholarship at the University of Texas at Tyler, 1989 NAIA National Championship team. I am well aware of different types of training that are needed to develop a student's game, including conditioning and mental training.

About the lesson

Each class is developed as needed. I take a look at the student's strokes, movements, and abilities to adjust the class to correct as needed.

Beginners, intermediate and advanced.

Look at experience. It is not just how to hit the ball, it's about strategy, way of thinking, competing, mental control, and more.

5 year old tennis camp 2016.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How long have you played?

How long have you been teaching?

How high did you reach?

Couch George has been teaching my son play tennis for over 6 months now. We feel very fortunate for having found him. He is very well skilled and caring. My son has improved a lot since he first started playing with couch Georg as a beginner. He is an excellent couch and I highly recommend him to anyone who needs a tennis couch.

Coach Jorge Javier is professional, patient and makes learning fun. He tailors the lesson to my son’s individual skills. He is also very flexible with the scheduling, which is always a plus.

Jorge is a talented coach and has helped my six year old son greatly improve his tennis skills. I've seen him instruct older students as well and he seems to do a great job with any age group. I would definitely reccomend.

We had Jorge as a tennis coach for our kids (Boy & Girl) in the past 3 months. He is an excellent coach as he is very experienced, very patient and super energetic. The lessons are intense, but fun! Our kids had consistent improvement at a faster rate through pass few months. I highly recommend Coach Jorge to anyone.
