I start off by explaining the basics and going through drills that will help promote the basics. I also stress the importance of of being patient because tennis is a skills sport and will require practice.
ive worked with beginners and intermediate players who could use a little tips or advice to improve their game.
Different people have different teaching styles and that could lead to different types of lessons. It's important to be patient in tennis and to practice often. Having fun definitely makes tennis more enjoyable and easier to improve.
i had taught a friend how to play tennis and she was challenged by a male friend who was taking a tennis class in college. After a month of working with her, we set up a march to see who was better. Needless to say, my student/friend beat him and I felt proud that my student faired better than him.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should ask themselves if they are in the right mind set to learn. Are they willing to accept constructive criticism and absorb all the information? Are they going to have fun while learning? Are they going to apply the information they learned in order to better themselves?
