About Jonathan

Hello!

My name is Jonathan Seith and I have been a tennis instructor for about 3 years. I graduated from Appalachian State in 2019 with a degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology. After I graduated from college, I worked at Tennis Bloc as a head coach in Raleigh and taught private and group lessons for kids and adults for about a year. I moved to Charlotte in 2020 and have been doing private tennis lessons as a side job since I moved. I have been playing tennis for almost 20 years. Growing up, I took private tennis lessons from instructors and played on the varsity tennis team in high school and played club tennis 4 years in college. I have also learned from previous instructors and read many books on techniques and strategy for tennis. I also worked as a science teacher for about 2 years and I always put my students first in helping them succeed and learn in the classroom.

One thing I love about teaching is the journey. Seeing students grow and learn over time is always a treasure and seeing the results at the end is what makes teaching so rewarding. I also love meeting new people who have a drive to learn! Tennis can be challenging to learn as a beginner, but I enjoy making my lessons fun and enjoyable for all ages. Last thing I love is... Tennis! It is my favorite sport and I love watching the major tournaments and the best players compete. One goal I have as a tennis instructor is to help people love and enjoy the sport as much as I do.

One thing I value as a tennis instructor is time. Another goal I have as a tennis instructor is for people to value the time I teach lessons. When I teach lessons, I always start out by getting to know a player's strength and weaknesses and developing a plan as to how to improve certain areas of their game. In addition, I also provide videos and articles people can look at to help develop and learn outside of our lessons.
