About Thibault

I’m a university student studying History and Politics, and I’ve been tutoring Politics for the last three years. My own way of working and structuring arguments helped me get straight A*s at GCSE and A-Level, and I wanted to tutor to show other students that the top marks in a written subject like Politics are completely achievable when you actually understand how the exam works. It’s a method that works! On average, the students I’ve taught end up getting three grades higher than they were predicted.

I really enjoy tutoring because there's nothing better than seeing a complex political concept or ideology finally click for someone who has been struggling with it. I’m energetic, relaxed, and very easy to get along with, which I think is massive for building up a student's confidence. Politics essays can feel overwhelming, so lessons shouldn't feel like an interrogation. They need to be a space where you feel comfortable testing out arguments, making mistakes, and asking questions.

Whether we're dissecting UK governance, breaking down global political theories, or mastering the exact essay structure needed for the exam, my focus is just on making the whole subject feel logical, manageable, and much less daunting.

About the lesson

Every session starts with a sharp focus tied directly to the exam. You will walk away from every single lesson having mastered a specific political analysis strategy, essay structure, or source question type. We stick strictly to the specification and target exactly what the examiners are looking for to secure those top marks.

That being said, studying politics shouldn't mean boring memorisation of case studies. The best learning happens when you actually engage with the debate. Because of that, I tailor the lessons entirely around how you think and learn, helping you connect the theory to real-world examples that interest you. When you actually understand the core logic behind political ideologies and institutions, building a sophisticated, high-scoring argument becomes second nature, and stays with you under exam pressure.
