About Kayla
I am a certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education from West Chester University. This school year, I will be working in an Autistic Support classroom for students in 8th-11th grade. I worked at a summer camp for 8 weeks as a swim instructor and taught 50 campers in Learn-to-Swim lessons. I monitored their progress and provided individual feedback.
Swimming is a great skill to learn for enjoyment, fitness, and survivial. I make sure to cover all areas in my lessons, and individualize lessons to meet the needs of my students.

The first thing I do is assess the student. I'll have the student show me what he/she is capable of doing, and what we will need to work on. I also ask the student if he/she has any goals set while reciving swim lessons. As I teach the student, I will modify and plan my lessons to match the needs and interests of that student.
