About Kristin

With 20 years of swim instruction and life guarding experience, I'm able to offer swim lessons for infants, children, and adults. Along with my swim instructor certification, I am a former EMT with advanced first aid, CPR, AED, and multiple life-saving and instruction certifications. I also have experience with working with children with disabilities such as autism, ADD/ADHD, and physical disabilities, as well as experience teaching students who have a fear of the water. This includes adults as well and children. It's never too late or too early to learn to swim.

I have very flexible pricing and scheduling options.

On a more personal note, I'm a 35-year-old mom with 2 beautiful children. I started teaching swim classes when I was 15 and was an ocean life guard and life guard trainer by the age of 16. I work from home, which allows me to schedule lessons whenever is convenient for you. Feel free to ask any questions.

Growing up near the ocean, I became a certified ocean lifeguard and swim instructor by the age of 16.

I have been a certified swim instructor for 20 years. I am also a former EMT and have multiple advanced first aid certifications.

About the lesson

Prior to your first lesson, a short phone interview is necessary to discuss prior swim experience (if any), strengths and weaknesses, as well setting a goal for the lessons.

After the first lesson and assessment, I will create a detailed outline of expected progression.

Infants - ages 4 months to 1 year

Toddlers - ages 1-3

"Little" Kids - ages 3-5

"Big" Kids - ages 6-12

Teens - ages 13-17

Adults - ages 18+

Children and adults with disabilities

Experience is key for any good swim instructor. You can have all the certifications in the world, but if you don't know how to teach the skills, you cannot be an effective coach.

Recently, I had a student who came to me with diagnosed PTSD due to a near-drowning experience. By the end of his third lesson, not only was his fear of the water completely gone, but he is now thinking of joining his local swim team.

My standard base price is $30 per 30-minute lesson per student. My pricing is flexible and I do have income-based discounts as well as discounts for multiple students. I also offer group lessons at a reduced rate. Please message me for more detailed information.
