About Brandon

I have been a competition swim coach for the last 11 years, and in that time I loved what I did. I expanded my training from infant survival to club team training. I do have a specialty with autistic kids of all age ranges. I have taught adult lessons and relieving fear of water. Whether it' teaching infants to lie on their back when they fall or correcting skulling during a three finger entry for freestyle, I love what I do! I travel to private or small group lessons available at tiered rates. Great idea if you just built a new pool and need to learn safety lessons!

My whole family is teachers and going into athletics and teaching was exactly what I knew was meant to do. I love working with families and seeing the whole family see progress.

About the lesson

Whether it be 6 months or 16 years, each approach is different depending where the student is starting from. I have taken a couple in their late 50's from intense fear of water above the waist to learning competition strokes. It takes persistence and patience either way.

I recently moved to the Phoenix area. Back in Chicago I taught a whole family of children. The three of them were all completely different. The youngest girl was terrified of water and ended up swimming competitive stroke before the age of four. The middle child was ODD and ADHD, but he and I had so much fun and he had a lot of fun learning competitive details. The oldest was a 16 brother non audible autitism child. We were able to teach him survival techniques and holding his breather underwater. Those happened right before I left.

Details

It is $30 for a half hour private lesson or $50 for an hour. Group rates depend on number of participants, but start at $50 for a half hour with two students. Travel within 25 miles of 85132. Travel coach, must provide location.
