About Desiree

I love teaching kids and its a very rewarding experience to have kids go from not knowing how to swim at all, to excelling efficiently into swim. Many kids have different reasons for wanting to know how to swim, and its amazing the way kids learn. They not only learn from me, but I also learn a lot from students too. I can't wait to meet you and hope you pick me for your next swim lesson!

I started teaching at the Antioch Waterpark and thats also where I started lifeguarding.

I am a certified lifeguard and now WSI (Water Safety Instructor), so I have some experience with kids and teaching lessons.

About the lesson

Usually I ask what age the child is and how much swimming do they know. From there, I go meet them in person and we start our lesson!

I've worked with little ones about 6 months all the way up to 14 years old. I am certified to teach anywhere between 6 months to adults, so even if its new I accept any challenge and always am looking for ways to grow and stretch myself.

My advice would be to find someone that you like. Every teacher is different and not everyone uses the same material. Find someone that you can connect with and learn together!

I was teaching this kid who didn't know how to swim at all and wanted to be on the water polo team. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish lessons with him, but its amazing to see how far he came with front crawl from not knowing anything at all in just 3 classes!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think any questions are valid especially in the water if you're confused about something. I'd rather you say something than not at all, so later down the road we don't have other problems that come up.

Details

I charge between 20-25$ every half hour depending on what works best for you. I'm open to negotiating between that range.
