Perfect! Maureen is a warm and friendly person who plays the hammered dulcimer beautifully. As a hammered dulcimer teacher, she is patient and encourages the student to develop their own style of playing. She teaches basics such as tuning, notes, and scales etc. To teach a song, Maureen breaks it down into sections and the student learns by watching and listening as she plays, then the student plays that section independently and so on. Maureen gives the student a "toolbox" of techniques and ideas in order to embellish a song to make it their own. She is never critical, but gives constructive criticism. I have learned much in the year that I have taken lessons from Maureen, and I highly recommend her for hammered dulcimer instruction.
