About Thomas

Thomas lives in Wheaton IL, graduated from Baldwin Wallace University in May 2017, and now plays on the men’s International Racquetball Tour full time. Thomas was the 2017 Collegiate National Champion and also a member of the US National Racquetball Team that competed in Chile in the 2018 Pan American Racquetball Championship.

Thomas says,

“I have been giving private lessons and helping Hall of Fame Coach Jim Winterton with camps since about 2015. I’ve been in the Winterton Racquetball system for so long, students often tell me I sound just like him, which I take as a huge compliment! If you want to take your game up two or more levels like I did, with lessons and video analysis, I would love to help you! I am eager to get started, so email me and we can get to work!

I love seeing my students get better! I know how hard it can be to improve, and it is really gratifying watching a student excel at some part of their game they used to struggle with.

I am a USA Racquetball Certified Instructor, I've been teaching private lessons and camps since 2015, and I am the #17 ranked player in the world on the International Racquetball Tour.

About the lesson

Each student is different, so we start by figuring out what our goals are and how much time we want to devote to racquetball. From there, we can build a plan that will help the student improve while staying within their level of commitment to the game. The vast majority of lessons start with us working on swing mechanics and footwork. Why? Well there are a few reasons, but for one, mechanical deficiencies make it hard to execute. It's easy to talk strategy and tell someone what shots they should be hitting, but if the way they are swinging or moving to the ball isn't mechanically correct, it will be hard to execute consistently.

I've worked with all types of students from complete beginners all the way to top players at the collegiate level.

This past year, the Illinois State Racquetball Association recognized one of my students the Most Improved Player of the Year. I am incredibly happy for him. He's been working hard and people are starting to take notice.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are your goals? There are no wrong answers, however you need to make sure your goals align with the amount of work you are willing/able to put into this sport.

Jeremy

Thomas is the man! If you want to improve your racquetball game, he's the person to go to. He can help you with your footwork, mechanics, mental strategies, and so much more. Having him as a resource during matches is a massive help. He can point out areas of your game you need to focus on that you might not notice at the time, and help you succeed. You feel like you definitely get an experience tailored to your game in terms of a custom practice/workout schedule, and if you ever have any questions he can answer them in depth and quick. If you need anything from a lesson to a long term coach, Thomas is the guy!
