Hello, My name is Tyishia Brown.

I have experience in all ages. Being the second eldest of six children, I have seen alot and understand how each person, each student has their own way of learning and that not every method works for everyone.

I am a 20 year old who has a passion for teaching World History, European and Asian History, US History, and Spelling..

I have helped tutor my own younger siblings since High school.

When I was younger, I myself struggled in Spelling and Math, But with the support and help of my family, I improved greatly. Now I can teach Basic Math to my younger brothers and sister and spell words backwards.

My personal opinion is that the tutor adapts to the student, not the student to the tutor.

I love working with children and teaching them how school does not have to be boring, but that it can be fun. I love teaching the importance of History, and the effect it has on the people around you, the effect it has on the whole world. The dicisions people make now, based on the events of the past.

I started teaching when I would help my younger siblings with their school. I started at the age of 11 and have been helping them ever since. I have helped teach from kindergarten to high school.

I do not possess any teaching certifications, But I have a high school diploma and enjoy working with grades from kindergarten to 4th or 5th grade.

About the lesson

I first like to chat with the student, get to know a bit about them. Get to know their individual personality, and gage their learning curve. I like to find the subject that interests them, and try to teach each subject of school, using that.

(Exp. If a student loves Fashion, But hates History, I will show them how they can learn History in a fun way by using the History of Fashion. Showing them how they can remember certain moments or important dates in history with the clothing of that era. Like, how the French Hood, most often associated with Anne Boleyn, was brought to England by Mary Tudor, Queen of France in 1516, The same year of the Battle of Yaunis Khan and the year that peace was declared between France and the Holy Roman Empire.)

I have worked with students who both Hate or Love school. I have tutored students who had difficulties in Reading, Writing, Math. Students with speech difficulties and who just need more time and patients to learn a subject.
