About Sophie

Hello!

My name is Sophie, I was a former Division 1 pitcher, and I led my University to two back to back conference tournaments and one conference championship. I have coached at both the division I and division II levels as a pitching coach and assistant coach, and love everything about teaching this sport. I have been involved in softball for over a decade and would love to pass on that passion to someone who wants to learn!

-I don't do hitting lessons at this point- only pitching lessons!

I love finding what works for each one of my students. Figuring out what clicks and how to help them get better and stronger is like a puzzle piece!

I have always been passionate about Softball. I always knew it is what I wanted to be involved in. I have a bachelors in Sport Management and a Master's degree in Sport Administration.

I played at 2 different Division I schools, and competed at a high level. My pitching coach was Olympic softball pitcher Jessica Moore. I have also coached at the University level, at both Division I and II. My main focus is pitching, but I have coached defense, offense, and pitching all together.

About the lesson

First we can start with whether your knowledge is basic, intermediate, or advanced. Depending on that knowledge is where we will begin. I am a huge advocate for a controllled, basic fastball-once you can hit every spot with that, then we will move on to your "accent" pitches(as I like to call them). perfecting the fastball will set you up for everything that you need to be as a pitcher.

I have worked with Beginners to Advances students, ranging from never touching a softball, to being in competitive collegiate environments.

Look for attentiveness to detail. These skills are hard to learn and master, and if you are moving on from the basics before they are muscle memory, then you are moving too fast. -When it comes to pitching you may think you have 10 pitches, but if you cannot control them to where you want it to go, you do not have any.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
-What do I want to master

-What in this sport is important for me to learn?

-What can I improve on?

-I am struggling, how can we break this down to be more understandable?

My prices are $40 for 30 minutes. I can work two lessons at once, but more than that would be a seperate hour. If possible to have a catcher at all times for your pitcher so I can focus on mechanics and improvements.
