About Sarah

I love seeing the spark when things click with students! Being part of the learning process is an honor, and everyone deserves the best educational atmosphere for their individual needs.

I have a soft spot for kids who struggled academically like I did when I was in school. I developed a lot of confidence when I went through college and in my career in criminal justice, and I want to help pass that confidence along to others. I am a life coach and tutor because I want to help individuals focus their energy into reaching their goals.

I have a Bachelor's degree in history, with a minor in humanities, so I'm a total history buff! I love European history, and ancient Greek history and Antiquity. I also love literature, creative writing, and social studies.

About the lesson

Contact me through this site or any of my linked accounts, and let me know what areas your student needs help with. I will work with any age student, in-person or virtual. I like to have a conversation with parents or caregivers if the student is under 18, to address goals and current academic progress.

I give the first hour of tutoring for free so we can make sure it's a good fit for everyone involved.

I specialize in history, social studies, and literature. I can also help with basic math fundementals (K-5), English, and writing.

I have worked with children and adults (K-12 and beyond) in both coaching and academics. There is no age limit to learning, and I like to encourage my clients to learn as much as they can every day, regardless of age or grade level.

Look at who is compatible with the student, because comfort level can make or break the learning process. Research skills are also essential. I don't know everything, but learning where to find the information you seek is a skill that will last beyond the tutoring sessions.

My husband and I had our first child last year and motherhood has been the greatest challenge and blessing of my life!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Anything and everything! Asking questions is the absolute core of critical thinking. There are no bad questions, because curiosity and gaining knowledge are skills that will serve us all for the rest of our lives.

Details

I charge $20 per hour, with the first hour for free if furture sessions are booked. One hour is usually good for a lesson in one subject, but everyone learns at a different pace, so we can adjust to meet the student's needs.

I accept PayPal, Venmo, and cash, and sessions can be paid for in advance or at the time of the session.

I'm also willing to travel outside the 30-mile radius for an additional fee.
