About Evan

As a long time player, I have grown to love the game. I have learned that repetition is the key to performance and confidence. Playing for 20 years and coaching for 5 has given me the insight and experience to focus in on areas of improvement while solidifying the basics. I played at Utica College as a Center Back for 3 years and with the NC Fusion U-23 Reserves for a year. I have been coaching with NC Fusion for 4 years now, coaching ages 8-18 at various levels of competition. I love the game and want to share my passion and knowledge to help players be the best they can be.

I was pursuing my dream of playing soccer professionally and fell into a coaching position with the club. I have been growing my experience as a coach by pushing to coach more competitive teams.

Coaching younger children as well as teens has helped me to accommodate all learning types and personalities. I am on track for my D-Class coaching license and will continue to improve my ability as a coach.

About the lesson

For the first session, I plan a basic and broad training session to see where the player stands. This helps me to see what areas need more focus than others. Then I like to have a conversation, get to know the player as a person, and see where they stand on their own performance or where they would like to improve.

I have worked with players of all ages and levels, as well as genders.

Please be prepared to work hard and be honest with yourself. We all start somewhere. Not being happy with your performance is okay, actually beneficial. Striving for growth will improve your game. It's all positive. We are looking for growth.
