About Tyler

About me:

My name is Tyler Gonzales and soccer is my life and my passion. I have been watching and playing soccer since I was 3 years old to the ripe age of 26.

Career:

I started very young playing soccer recreationally from 3-9 years old.

When I was 9 I started to get recruited by club teams around houston to play for their "Pre-Academy" teams.

At 10 years old I made the top Academy team for my club.

I continued playing the highest level of club soccer for the next 5 years. (ECNL, MLS Next, etc..)

I made my High School Varsity team my Sophmore year once I stopped playing club soccer.

I continued on to play for one of the top NAIA Colleges in the country where I was forced to retire due to injuries.

Experience:

I knew after having to quit soccer after leaving college that I still wanted to keep it in my life, so I explored my avenues and turned to coaching.

I have now been Coaching for 4 years going on 5 now. I have been running private lessons for 3 of those 4 years and I have loved every minute of it.

I have given private lessons to over 50 kids now, with some of those privates ranging almost every week for 2 years.

My Style:

I love paying attention to detail. I like to perfect the small details and have repetition of those details to slowly build a strong foundation to grow upon.

I value passing on situational knowledge to my players. Making the correct decisions in a game from a young age helps the player make the hard decisions later on in life.

I like to make players do the "uncomfortable" things in practice. It is hard to have the confidence to take a player on 1v1 or to believe that they can be the star player, I like to teach them to have the confidence to take a challenge head on and believe in their ability.

Just as much as I am a coach to help with soccer, I am also there to make sure the players mature on and off the field. It is important to build character through youth sports such as Leadership, Teamwork, Humbleness, etc...

I look forward to working with everyone to help them accomplish whatever next step that may be for themselves. Whether it's scoring more goals, becoming more skillful on the ball, or making their competitive/ school team.

About the lesson

I usually set a date and a time to meet at a field. The very first practice I get a baseline to evaluate where the players is at and what they need to work on.

I have worked with beginners as young as 6 years old and had very advanced players up to 14.

I am planning on working with a couple 25+ year aged people so I am not afraid to teach very advanced soccer to anyone older or anyone just looking to get a sweat on.

Make sure that the coach is right for you and that going into the sessions you have the correct motivation and focus. The more focused you are to a session the more wealth you gain from it.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What do I want from this?

What are my goals if I do this?

Does this teacher/ coach fit my needs?
