About Eric
I have studied with well respected vocal instructors and have gained information from many other scholastic resources. My background is in classical voice, but regularly sing Jazz, R&B, Musical Theater etc. My students have found success across musical styles and I work with all ages and levels of students. Additionally, I have a psychology background which aids me in understanding the learning process so that I can tailor lessons to the student and their individual learning style.
I started teaching in college to help my classmates and others who wanted to improve their voices. I soon learned that I was pretty skilled and it is something that I love.
I have a degree in voice with an emphasis in vocal pedagogy and have maintained a studio of successful students for over a decade. I also maintain an active performance schedule.

With a new student, I first want to understand their goals for lessons. Do they feel that they’re “tone deaf” or can only sing a few notes and want to improve from there or are they preparing for graduate auditions in vocal performance? Then I assess the level that they’re currently singing at so that I can appropriately help them.
I work with everyone. I’ve had students who were referred to me because they sing at such a low technical level that other teachers didn’t know where to being up to professional singers of all styles.

In high school, I wanted to join the choir, but I had problems matching pitch. I came to Eric to work on this and he helped immensely! I'm not in my college chamber choir and love singing as much as I can. Eric is a great teacher, understanding and lessons are always productive and fun!
Eric is an incredible voice instructor. I studied with him for about two years before moving out of state, and I learned so much from him. My singing greatly improved, and I looked forward to my weekly lessons. If you are considering voice lessons and looking for an instructor, I HIGHLY recommend working with Eric!
